In order to expand the potential of Ryukyu indigo, this project is not limited to the conventional dyeing of yarn and clothing, but also promotes Ryukyu indigo as an art form.
We have created poster frames dyed with indigo dye made from our own cultivated Ryukyu indigo. Each piece is handmade, so no two are alike. The product you receive will be the only one in the world. We propose this as a work of art rich in design, utilizing the Ryukyu indigo dyeing and resin techniques and the texture of the wood.
Please enjoy the depth of “Ryukyu blue”.
Black Light Posters are printed in the “flocking style” that was popular in the U.S. in the 1970s, and are characterized by a three-dimensional style with a strong sense of presence. The designs are often influenced by the counterculture and psychedelic influences that spread from the West Coast of the U.S. “Animals, drugs, hippies, rock, bikers, comics, and other cultural elements of the time are all strongly evident.
The posters are all originals, made by printing companies that once existed, including Pro Arts, AA Sales, FUNKY FEATURES, and AA Graphic. Since they are not available for resale, they are sold at high prices on eBay and other online auction sites in the United States. In addition to the flocky style, the blacklight posters are characterized by the fact that they emit light when exposed to a black light in the dark.
