Ryukyu Indigo Dyeing Workshop

The Ryukyu Indigo Research Institute regularly opens its workshop to the public, offering indigo dyeing workshops that use mud indigo (precipitated indigo) made from indigo plants grown on our own farm.

Our dyeing vats are designed for dyeing finished garments, so we can dye heavy items such as coats, dresses, and fabric.

Dyeing fees vary depending on the weight of the item you wish to dye. There is no limit on the number of dyeing passes, so please dye your item to your desired shade within the allotted time.
Why not give your clothes a fresh new look by re-dyeing them—or transforming stained or worn-out garments—with the deep, rich hues of “RYUKYU BLUE”?
