To revive our Ryukyu indigo fields: We need your help
- A Request for Support for Reconstruction and Recovery Following the 2024 Heavy Rainfall -
In 2024, torrential rains struck northern Okinawa, causing severe damage to the fields where we had been growing Ryukyu indigo; much of the crop was washed away.
We are currently working to restore and rebuild the fields, but there is no clear timeline for the construction work, and it will still take some time to fully restore the damaged fields. As a result, we are unable to plant new crops in the fields, so we are currently continuing to produce dye by obtaining indigo leaves from neighboring farmers. However, we continue to face difficulties in securing sufficient quantities of indigo leaves.
Therefore, we are currently accepting orders for Ryukyu indigo-dyed T-shirts. These T-shirts are dyed with Ryukyu indigo and printed using ink mixed with Ryukyu indigo sediment.
Proceeds from these sales will be used to purchase the indigo leaves needed for this year’s dye production and to fund the reconstruction of our fields.
To ensure the culture of Ryukyu indigo is not lost and is passed on to future generations. We would be grateful if those interested could participate, within their means.

取り扱い方法
- 手染めにて染色している為、個体差がございます。
- いずれも天然染色の風合いとして不均一な色の移り変わりをお楽しみください。独特のムラ感は化学染料では表現出来ない最大の特徴です。
- 藍染商品の注意点として、天然染色のため初めの数回のご着用時には肌移りしたり、他の生地(トップスやバッグ)などに色移りする可能性もあります。それらの防止の為、色止めは行なっていますが、天然染色の特性上予めご了承くださいませ。
- 非常に日焼けしやすいので、日光にあたらない場所で保管してください。
- 製品到着時、藍染特有のアク成分が表面に浮き、匂いや黄茶色が出る場合がございます。その場合は、一度下記の通りお手入れしてからご着用下さい。アクが抜け、天然藍染特有の鮮やかな色味が増していきます。
初回のお手入れ( アク抜き方法)
※1ヶ月〜３ヶ月に１度はアク抜きのため、お湯につけ込みをおすすめいたします。
- 製品を40℃程度の湯にしっかり20〜30分置く。
- アクが出ると黄茶色になる。余分な藍が残っていた場合は青色が出る。
- 水を変えながら2〜3回水洗いする。
- 1〜3の工程を２回繰り返す。
- 十分に脱水し乾燥させる。
- アク抜きとは藍に含まれるインディゴ以外の不純物を取り除く事です。藍染本来の藍色が映え、紫外線による退色変化を軽減する効果があります。
- 水洗いに使用したボウルやシンクの表面に青い染料がつく事がありますが、スポンジ等でこすれば落ちます。
普段のお手入れ
- 水洗いで、可能なら手洗いでやわらかく洗ってください。
- ドライクリーニングは避けて下さい。
- 初めの数回は他の衣類とは分けて洗ってください。色移りの可能性があります。
- その後は色の濃いものと一緒に洗うか、分けて洗ってください。
- 洗剤は中性洗剤を使用し、漂白剤、蛍光増白剤が入っていないものを使用していただくことが望ましいです。もしくは、専用の色落ちしにくい洗剤などをご使用下さい。
