"Re:Blue" Project

The fashion industry, which is responsible for one of the three indispensable elements of life, clothing, has an impact on environmental issues from production to disposal.

This is a project to design and revitalize clothes that can no longer be worn for various reasons, such as stains, fading, or colors that are not to the liking of the wearer.

We propose the responsibility of making and wearing clothes.

precautions

  • The product image and the actual product may differ from the actual color due to your monitor settings, room lighting, etc. Please understand this in advance.
  • Since each item is dyed individually, there will be some shrinkage.
  • Please note that there are small scratches and repair marks because of dyeing old clothes, but please understand them as characteristics of old clothes.

*Please be sure to read the following information regarding washing and care.

Handling Method

  • There are individual differences due to the hand-dyeing process.
  • Please enjoy the uneven color transition as the texture of natural dyeing. The unique unevenness is the greatest feature that cannot be expressed by chemical dyes.
  • As a precaution for indigo-dyed products, there is a possibility that the color may migrate to the skin or other fabrics (tops, bags, etc.) when worn for the first few times due to the natural dyeing process. To prevent this, we have applied a color fix, but please understand that this is a characteristic of natural dyeing.
  • Store out of sunlight as it tans very easily.
  • When the product arrives at the store, there may be a smell or a yellowish brown color due to the unique indigo dye component floating on the surface. In this case, please care for the garment as described below before wearing. The stain will be removed and the vivid color unique to natural indigo dyeing will increase.

First time care ( how to remove starch)

*We recommend soaking in hot water once every 1 to 3 months to remove the scum.

  1. Place the product in hot water of about 40°C for a solid 20-30 minutes.
  2. When acrid, it turns yellowish brown. If excess indigo remains, it will turn blue.
  3. Rinse in cold water 2-3 times, changing the water.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 twice.
  5. Dehydrate and dry thoroughly.
  • Akuduki” is the process of removing impurities from indigo other than indigo. This process is effective in bringing out the original indigo color and reducing fading caused by ultraviolet rays.
  • Blue dye may adhere to surfaces of bowls and sinks used for rinsing, but it can be removed by scrubbing with a sponge.

Routine care

  • Wash in cold water and softly by hand if possible.
  • Avoid dry cleaning.
  • Wash the first few times separately from other garments. There is a possibility of color migration.
  • Then wash with dark-colored items or wash separately.
  • It is recommended that a neutral detergent be used, free of bleach and optical brighteners. Alternatively, use a special colorfast detergent.
